About Us

Havana Springs Resort is a 50-acre retreat for people seeking relaxation in a natural setting steeped in Florida history. Just 16 miles from I-10 and Tallahassee, 3 miles from the quaint town of Havana, and 7 miles from the historic Coca Cola millionaires town of Quincy, Havana Springs Resort offers nine boutique guest rooms as well as Shady Rest, a 3,300 square foot meeting and event center in what used to be the area's most raucous and infamous honky tonk.

Havana Springs Resort is a village of historical buildings including the c.1828 Nicholson farmhouse, which is on the National Historic Register, as well as several historic buildings that were moved to the site by Paul Nicholson, a former owner of the property and developer of the much beloved but now closed Nicholson Farmhouse Restaurant.

Behind the village is a gorgeous ravine with a large spring, huge trees, and a nature trail open to the guests of Havana Springs Resort. The uplands in front of the village are managed as gopher tortoise, bluebird and native wildflower habitat.

Eco/Green Sensibilities

Havana Springs uses several programs to support environmental safety. We've always loved old buildings and old things, and like to think these objects possess a spirit of the past and that history has some weight and substance. It also just makes sense from several perspectives to re-use our resources whenever possible. Most of the buildings at Havana Springs are old, the same goes for much of the furniture. We've tried to use recovered heart pine when we can for repairs--not only does it feel better but it lasts longer!

We recycle our trash whenever possible.

We compost waste from our catering kitchen to use as fertilizer.

We utilize a water preservation program with our guest room linens.

Most of our toilets are dual flush. Our guest room a/c units are high efficiency mini-splits; most of our water heaters are point-of-use (tankless).

The soap and shampoo in the B&B bathrooms is ERP-certified (Environmentally Responsible Product) and all packaging is 100% biodegradable.

We try to be good stewards of the land. The front fields are managed for gopher tortoises (we have quite a few!), bluebirds, and wildflowers. We do our best to get rid of invasive exotics.
